Somali Port Workers Union (SOPWU) was established in 2006 as a democratic organization. Its primary aim, as outlined in the Union’s constitution, is to ensure the comprehensive representation of all port sector workers within the Union. SOPWU is affiliated with the Somali Congress of Trade Unions (SOCOTU) and is committed to offering robust leadership and advocating for the well-being of workers in the port industry.
